Lots of the movies on your list I'd also like to see! I used to be in the Blockbuster club thing but after I quit we haven't rented movies for a long time.

ooh, some of those movies are great-- others are in my queue too... loved Casino Royale, Pan's Labyrinth
I would recommend King of Masks if you haven't seen it (it's a three hankie foreign film) and the Devil's Backbone (beautifully eerie film by same director as Pan's Labyrinth) and City of Lost Children (very very odd and surreal/dark)

I put King of Masks, the Devil's Backgone, and City of Lost Children on our list. They all look very good. I also added Renaissance from a preview we saw on The Prestige DVD. The animation looks pretty interesting.
We saw Pan's Labrynth in the theater, and it was very good, though very sad.

P.S. Thanks for the recommendations!

Nice list. King Kong was the best movie of 2005, imo--a little long, but so worth it.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was overshadowed by the Branjolina thing, but it's a fun movie.
Children of Men is the best movie I've seen in a long, long time.
You like scary movies, eh? I recommend--if you haven't seen--Omen and Damian: Omen II (not the remake!), and Carrie.
I'm in a Netflix rut right now. I have Shaun of the Dead out--you might like that too--but after that, I'm having a hard time being wowed by anything.
Murderball was AMAZING. . . one of the best docs I've seen.

Yes, Shaun of the Dead was one of my favorite movies that year. I'm looking forward to Hot Fuzz this year. It looks to be about the same humor, and of course, some of the same cast.
You probably noticed some of the cast of the UK series, The Office, in Shaun. And from the previews it looks like some of the cast of Extras, specifically Stephen Merchant, is in Hot Fuzz.
I'll add Omen and Damian: Omen II to the list. I remember hearing that they were pretty good. I've never seen Rosmary's Baby either. Anyone know if it is worthwhile?
