A Week of Sun October 7 - 13, 2008

A lot of these were taken in the car, although thankfully not while I was moving since I was in the driver's seat. People watch me as I roll down my window at stop lights to get a picture and they must think I'm mad.
My damaged camera is still holding up, although I'm having trouble getting clear shots, especially in low light. Several pictures this week looked fine on the display and then displayed fuzzy when I looked at a larger view. It's too bad too because the sky was pretty amazing.
My new camera should be arriving today, but I'm not sure how long it'll be before I start using it. I haven't used a SLR in more than a decade. I'm a little nervous.

No worries, you're going to love it! If you are good to the Rebel the Rebel will be good to you :)

Is it a DSLR or old school? Either way, I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
By the way, what's your crazy fascination with taking pictures of the sky?

Hope your new camera arrives soon (or has already arrived) as I love to see your beautiful photos!
A couple days ago as I was driving to work on the freeway, there was this most magnificent view of the hillside with leaves turning, so gorgeous. But I didn't have a camera ready and pulling over would have been difficult.

Mamacita: I can hardly wait for the Rebel. :)
Davo: It's DLSR, which I'm pretty sure means it's automatic or manual on all the settings, but I have this fear I won't be able to figure it out. I know very little about photography formally.
My crazy fascination was looking up and seeing a beautiful sunrise one morning. Mamacita inspired me too to start taking daily photos and posting them, which evolved into my weekly photo posts.
PBS: I know! I've seen so many beautiful scenes and been unable to photograph them because I couldn't pull over or didn't have a camera. My sister gave me her old cell phone which has a camera phone. I have to see if it works with my carrier. I'm eying the G1 though, but not for several months. A 3 mpx camera on a cell phone sounds like a dream.

P.S. I ordered the XSi 12 megapixel instead of the XSt 10 megapixel because it was $15 less and it takes SD cards instead of compact flash (I think anyway). I hope it lives up to expectations.
