A Game to Fight World Hunger

Do you enjoy word games? Is your vocabulary above par? Do you want to improve your vocabulary? Well then Free Rice may be the game for you. The game was invented by John Breen to teach help his son study for his SATs, but with a twist. For every correct answer, 20 grains of rice to feed the hungry, primarily in Bangladesh.
Breen pays for the donation with a rotating ad and his site has led to the distribution of 17 billion grains of rice, or over 850,000 people fed for a day.
So if you have a few free minutes today, give it a try. See how far you can get with your vocabulary. Improve your mind and also do something good for the world.

Random, I was just playing last night. If I have trouble sleeping I get out of bed, turn on my computer and play that until my eyes start shutting again.

Mamacita: Ah, that's great. I saw it recently in an old copy of a gaming magazine from July and it sparked my interest.
PBS: It also offers the pronunciation, which is essential if you're ever going to use the word in the future. As a kid I read a lot, but I never took the time to figure out how to pronounce words. As a result, I embarrassed myself many times before I finally started figuring that out when I picked up a new word.

My kids have used Free Rice for vocabulary lessons. It's so much fun - kind of addictive!
