Kendric's Meme
Saturday, September 20, 2008
You'll remember a few weeks ago I did the Alphabetized Meme stolen from Venjanz.

That's very cool, I like your list! How long did it take to do it though?(!)

I'm honored to be mentioned on OG's blog! :-) Here are my lists, both of them...hopefully this doesn't blow the comment system sky high...
It was a little challenging to get this; had to do some sorting by hand. Oh, and, the alphabetizing was by first name. Hope that's OK. ;-)
# - "1,2,3" by 311
A - "Eagle" by ABBA
B - "Nerdcore Hip-Hop 2006" by Baddd Spellah and MC Frontalot
C - "Artune Detuned" by Carpet Burn (one of the bands I was in back in college)
D - "Are You Out There" by Dar Williams
E - "As I Went Down In The River To Pray" by East Hill Singers (men's choir combining Lansing inmates and men from my church and others)
F - "Lonesome Valley" by Fairfield Four (from the "O Brother Where Are Thou" soundtrack)
G - "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Gerry and the Pacemakers
H - "Shvensen Fitzlogik (featuring MC Lars)" by Hardnox
I - "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" by Information Society (the ONLY song I had by a "I" artist)
J - "Po' Lazarus" by James Carter and the Prisoners ("O Brother" again)
K - "Bossy (Kelis cover)" by K.Flay
L - "White Horse" by Laid Back
M - "A Nation On Fire" by Machine Head
N - "My Biochemical Terrorist Romance" by Na$ty Felixxx (who I think is really MC Lars)
O - "Elvira" by Oak Ridge Boys (yes, really)
P - "5 Minutes Alone" by Pantera
Q - "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen
R - "Airbag" by Radiohead
S - "Crawling" by Sacred Reich
T - "Heartbreakdancer" by Team Goldie (some artists may have been lost because of being under T for "The ____")
U - "Roxanne, Roxanne" by UTFO (all the stuff under "Unknown" doesn't count)
V - "Cosmos theme song" by Vangelis (which comes just before all the many takes on "various artists")
W - "A Complicated Song" by "Weird Al" Yankovic
X - nothing
Y - nothing
Z - "Who's Behind The Door" by Zebra
Hmmm! That was interesting. Four songs (H, K, N, T) came from this freebie CD of unknown nerdcore groups I got from MC Lars at a show in Des Moines. Four more (A, I, V, Z) came from Bert's series of "Bad Songs That I Really Like" compilations. Five songs (G, L, O, Q, U) came from MY "bad songs" compilations that were a response to Bert's. F and J came from the "O Brother" soundtrack while E didn't, although another version of that song does appear there. And even with 348 artists, none of them started with X or Y. Maybe some of the "various" or "unknown" ones do.
Fun!
Here is the list I got by sorting ONLY by song name.
# - "3cogni2" by Optimus Rhyme ("10s" by Pantera lost because ten sorts after three)
A - "A" by Barenaked Ladies
B - "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin
C - "C11 H17 N2 O2 S Na" by Anthrax (it's supposed to be sodium pentathol)
D - "Daddy" by Jewel (same as OG)
E - "Eagle" by ABBA" (again!)
F - "Face Fisted" by Dethklok
G - "Galaxy" by 311
H - "Hail to the Winner, Anakin Skywalker" from the Star Wars Episode I soundtrack (Ultimate Edition)
I - "I Am A Grocery Bag" by They Might Be Giants
J - "Jabba's Baroque Recital" from the Star Wars Episode VI soundtrack
K - "Kalinka" by East Hill Singers
L - "Lack There Of" by Biohazard
M - "Mack The Knife" by Louis Armstrong
N - "Naked And Famous" by Presidents Of The United States Of America
O - "Obey The Moderator" by Optimus Rhyme
P - "Packaged Rebellion" by Anthrax
Q - "Q U" by They Might Be Giants
R - "Rabid Child" by They Might Be Giants
S - "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys
T - "Taiyed" by 311
U - "UFT For The MC" by MC Hawking
V - "Vancouver" by They Might Be Giants
W - "Wabash Cannonball" by KSU Marching Band
X - "XTC vs Adam Ant" by They Might Be Giants

Ridger: But you still had the idea.
PBS: Thanks! It didn't take long with iTunes or Windows Media player. Just load the application, sort by song title, and scroll through the list.
Kendrid: Thanks for posting the lists here.
Toniya: What other songs did you have? I love you morning coffe spot. I really miss the mountains.
