Lifetime has a new show titled "America's Psychic Challenge" starting tonight. Both Skepchick and Mark Hoofnagle have posted about it on their blogs. (Actually Mark posted about "Phenomenon", but it sounds like the same show. Edit: It's not the same show. I hope to watch both.) I've set the show to record and I hope to comment on it over the coming weeks and with the scouring of the web post what skeptics are saying about the show.

Here's a bit from Mark's post that I found very interesting:

Yes, I've seen this before. Randi is amazing. What a treasure of the rational materialist community he is. May he long live.

what a fascinating video. I've never heard of this guy, but it's good to see somebody taking a stand to disprove the frauds. I think a lot of people know that psychics or healers must be fake but nobody does anything to prevent them from continuing their games.

    Mamacita -

    Google "Amazing Randi".

He's been doing this sort of thing my whole life (and I'm OLD)!

    OG -

I wish you would turn off word verification. I typically enter the letters at least twice before it agrees with my interpretation. I know they are valuable in stopping spam (and I used to do it too), but it seems like as long as I am actively following my blog entries and comments, I don't really have any problem with spam. But, whatever works for you. I can be patient.

I turned word verification off. You don't know how much I hate spam. But I figure if it doesn't get too out of hand I can delete it.

I have the same problem with entering word verification as you do. I usually don't get it until the second time. But at least the text saves and it just takes entering another set of random characters! :)

James Randi certainly is awesome. One of the best debunkings I have seen by him would be of James Hydrick on That's My Line. It was almost painful to watch, if I hadn't have been laughing so hard at the guy.

I guess I should have come to the old post before your latest!

"I have the same problem with entering word verification as you do."

That's what made ME turn it off. I figured it COULDN'T just be me and if I found it annoying, probably others posting at my blog did also.
